Our apologies, but Superstar Academy activities are on an indefinite hold. We hope to offer classes in the fall, but, for now, we will not be offering summer camps. Thanks for your understanding!
Tales of the Unusual
A Superstar Academy original production.
May 14 -17 at TheatreNOW
Superstar Academy is following up last year's award-winning production of "#Alice: A Cautionary Technology Fable" with a new original production written and directed by Zach Hanner. Tales of the Unusual is an anthology of weird, wacky and wonderful tales.
Combine modern dilemmas every kid faces with storylines from “The Twilight Zone” and you get this exciting show from the pen of Executive Director Zach Hanner.
“The Cool Kid” follows a typical middle school where a group of tastemaking tweens known as “The Pops” influence the other students with their adaptation of trends. But when a new student named Hunter arrives, he steals the group’s thunder and takes over as the new “cool kid.” But when The Pops discover Hunter is a robot sent by the marketing team of a major corporation in order to sell them things, all bets are off!
“Rockin’" follows a group of young kids trying to start their first band. Unfortunately their lead guitarist, Jimmy, might keep them from becoming huge stars due to his lack of musical skill. When Jimmy meets a stranger that offers him a magic guitar and amplifier, he becomes an overnight virtuoso. But will his newfound talent ruin his relationship with his bandmates? Will they rock out at the huge gig and get that record contract? Will his enchanted equipment be enough to make Jimmy happy?
