Superstar Academy has just announced its 2016 Summer Camp program. As in past years, it promises to be full of exciting adventures in theater and filmmaking, including a special camp just for children and young adults with disabilities. Camp is from 9 am to 1pm Monday - Friday with performances for parents, family and friends on Friday. Superstar Academy's innovative summer camp program continues with this unique adventure. Kim Henry will guide campers to create a Play In A Week! Superstar Academy's fabulous Summer Camp program continues with this fabulous musical theatre camp presented by the talented Jason Aycock. In this fast paced week of singing and dancing, campers will take songs from musicals, movies, and even their own favorite tunes and blend them with fun choreography and imaginative staging. A&E star Big Smo visits Superstar Academy
"Imagination can break down walls," singer Big Smo told kids at Superstar Academy's summer camp today. The "hick-hop" artist is in Wilmington for two concerts this weekend but he and his band, Haden Carpeter and Dan Nelson came straight from the airport for a visit that lastest more than an hour. Choose Your Own Adventure!!!
Superstar Academy's Summer Camp program kicks off in great fashion with this exciting week of storybuilding, led by children's theater veteran, Zach Hanner. Campers will brainstorm on day one, deciding what kind of adventure in theater they want to create. Will it be a play? A commercial? It's all about imagination! There will be two sessions : June 23-27 and July 7-11. All camps are held at TheatreNOW on the corner of 10th and Dock in downtown Wilmington. Cost is $125.


Superstar Academy's Kim Henry Receives Award
We're thrilled to announce that Kim Henry, one of Superstar Academy's board members and outreach teaching artist received a certificate of appreciation from Douglass Academy. One of Kim's special projects during her 10 weeks at the Academy was to direct first graders in a production of the Lorax.
